- 62% of the business architecture teams have an equal balance of female team members (or greater up to 100%).
- 25% of the enterprise architecture teams have an equal balance of female team members (or greater up to 100%).
A few selected thoughtful comments from respondents are below.
- “The percentage of female EAs is very low in Saudi Arabia as the domain is male dominant (similar situation as IT). Most managerial positions are led by males as well, even though they have limited knowledge of EA or even certified.”
- “I have contributed to many Indian IT service organizations with clients based out of the US, UK, Gulf, Singapore. (Domains include Banking/Finance, Healthcare, Life Science, Government, Oil & Gas, etc.). Only in the delivery organization can I see a few female faces, but not in the EA Team and certainly not any single female face in business architecture.”
- “I work as an Enterprise Business Architect for a small consultancy company in a small team of 4 architects. I am the only woman. Prior to my current employment, I worked in Financial Services as a Business Architect. At one stage, there was a big Architecture team of around 20 different domain architects. Again, I was the only woman in the team.”
According to one key statistic, about 13%* of enterprise architect roles are held by women. While limited, we still believe that this data is directionally accurate and indicative of the gender gap across all domains of enterprise architecture worldwide
