What business architecture domains are leveraged by your organization?

Here are the results from a survey conducted in February 2021.1

In Summary…

  • The top domain leveraged by organizations is capabilities, followed by value streams. Since capabilities and value streams together form the business architecture baseline of an organization, this is an important insight reflecting increasing maturity and consistency in how we anchor our business architectures.
  • The next most common domains leveraged by organizations are strategies, organization/business units, stakeholders, initiatives, and products.
  • In many cases, organizations that leverage the strategy domain also leverage the initiative domain, which when coupled with value streams and capabilities provides end-to-end traceability from strategy to execution.
  • 1Not a scientific study. Results based on a small collection of 52 survey responses.
