Unlock the Full Potential of Your Organization's Business Architecture Practice

Learning Format
We offer two learning formats for The Business Architecture Partnership Ecosystem:
- Live Virtual — Our traditional format is a hands-on, small-group interactive program designed to maximize interaction among participants and facilitators. This educational format is optimal for professionals who learn best in a guided small group setting and benefit from regular interaction with peers and facilitators. The live virtual program has fixed start and end dates. We provide access to the materials for an additional six months after the live program concludes.
- Self-Paced — Available Now! This learning format has no open enrollment for the Self-Paced program. Join the Self-Paced program anytime; you can learn at your own pace. This program variant is well suited for those exceptionally busy professionals who may travel a lot or find the guided program doesn't fit their busy professional and personal schedules. We anticipate you can complete this program in 20 weeks. We provide access to the materials for one full year.
Both Live Virtual and Self-Paced guide you through the entire business architecture partnership ecosystem and assist you in implementing the concepts, supported by canvases and tools at each step of your journey.

Who is this program for?
Business architecture leaders and practitioners will find this program invaluable to understand and design the crucial interactions and collaborations between the business architecture discipline and other functions/disciplines.
Other leaders and practitioners, such as those responsible for strategy, transformation, or change, may also find this program to be valuable for designing a holistic approach to strategy execution and organizational design.
What's the difference between the Self-Paced and Live Virtual programs?
In the Self-Paced program, you engage with a comprehensive set of materials (educational and how-to videos, assessments, a detailed workbook, canvases, and tools) and learn independently, whereas the Live Virtual program has an interactive, hands-on, coaching-oriented learning modality with an established schedule.
The Self-Paced program is a less expensive alternative to the Live Virtual, and you go at your own pace. It has no fixed start and end dates, which is well suited for those who are self-starters but have a busy work schedule or reside in a time zone that isn't conducive to the collaborative learning model.
How is the Live Virtual program structured?
The Live Virtual program is a hands-on and interactive experience. We begin with an overview of the business architecture partnership ecosystem as well as the process to successfully integrate with other teams. Next we walk through the specific interactions and collaborations between business architecture and 12 essential functions/disciplines plus 5 additional frameworks. We then bring the concepts together and contextualize them within various business scenarios using case studies. Finally, we help you define a roadmap and practical next steps to move into action on the concepts provided throughout the program.
This program is all about you and your success. We keep the group size cozy to maximize interaction among participants and with the facilitators.
You’ll enjoy a balanced blend of expert teaching and practical application. We believe that learning in small bites and by doing is most effective.
Typically, we cover one lesson per week. However, throughout the program, we have weeks with designated workshops and catch-up time with no scheduled lessons. Each lesson provides you with at least one activity and reflection questions to put the ideas into practice for your organization.
Our Biz Arch Mastery teaching methodology for this program leverages an iterative Learn-Do-Reflect&Act-Share approach, which we co-create with participants.
How is the Self-Paced program structured?
This program is structured with care and intent to help you achieve the best results. We believe that learning in small bites and by doing is most effective.
The program is designed for you to cover one lesson per week or every other week, with additional time for you to accommodate out-of-office time and other personal and professional commitments.
The Self-Paced program leverages the Biz Arch Mastery teaching methodology of an iterative Learn-Reflect-Do approach. Each lesson includes educational and how-to videos, assessments, workbook reflections, and at least one activity supported by a canvas or template to help you put the ideas into practice for your organization.

"
– Juliane Berger, Head of Business Architecture, Allianz Commercial
"Understanding the unique perspectives and motivations that business partners have is a crucial piece to driving strategy to reality, and this program does just that. I would also be remiss if I didn't give a shoutout to Whynde Kuehn for her thoughtful approach to the design and collaborative spirit of The Business Architecture Partnership Ecosystem program."
– Business Architecture Partnership Ecosystem Program Participant (May 2024 Cohort)
"Ongoing professional development can feel sometimes feel stale and forced, but the way Whynde leads and how the cohorts interact has made this experience amazing. I’ve met people I know I’ll stay in touch with or even end up working with. Huge thank you to Whynde and everyone in the course!"
– Business Architecture Partnership Ecosystem Program Participant (May 2024 Cohort)
"[One of the most invaluable aspects of the program] was the sharing of work as this provided me with a glimpse of how real practitioners go about doing business architecture. I also loved the discussions where people discussed real problems. Real problems are not clean cut like case studies. They are muddy and could be interpreted very differently by different people which gave rare insight into how different perspectives can contribute to problems and solutions."
– Business Architecture Partnership Ecosystem Program Participant (May 2024 Cohort)
"This was an especially important signature program I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend!
The Business Architecture Partnership Ecosystem program equips me to foster a comprehensive understanding and shared mental picture of the design and change activities synthesized across the various disciplinary perspectives, involved in translating business direction into a coordinated set of actions needed to transition organizations to achieve desired states and business outcomes.
Also, making new friends, as I did in the cohort, is always special on this interesting journey to the summit!"
– Business Architecture Partnership Ecosystem Program Participant (May 2024 Cohort)
"...A comprehensive approach to strategy execution, business decision-making, and effective organizational development requires the interplay of a number of disciplines, from business model design and strategy, to architecture, to portfolio management and planning, to change management and other business functions like HR or risk & compliance – to name only a few! We've touched on all these disciplines and functions [throughout the program] and how they integrate with business architecture, how they mutually benefit each other, and how business architecture often is the scaffolding that enables collaboration.
Applying all of the learnings, several practical scenarios highlighted the diverse usage of business architecture within its partnership ecosystem: a new strategic direction, mergers and acquisitions, sustainability – to name only a few.
Excited to put the added knowledge to good use! Thanks to a fantastic cohort of peers – I really appreciate the opportunity to learn from and with you - and special thanks and shoutout to Whynde Kuehn for curating yet another top-notch learning experience for business architecture leaders!"

Are there any prerequisites for this program?
To maximize the value of this program, it is ideal to have a foundational understanding of business architecture. If you have completed any of the following, then you’re all set:
- Achieved your Certified Business Architect® (CBA®) certification
- Participated in a Biz Arch Mastery Inner Circle group coaching program
- Completed the Business Architecture Immersion course or the entire 5-day Business Architecture Bootcamp series from Guild Accredited Training Partner® BAA
- Worked directly in the business architecture discipline for 6 months or more
If you are brand new to the business architecture discipline and do not yet meet these prerequisites, we still encourage you to enroll in this program. We have included a Business Architecture Foundation section within the program to provide you with a solid working knowledge of the discipline and its positioning. In addition, we can help you navigate any options to get up to speed along the way.
How do Biz Arch Mastery programs compare to formal training and other memberships?
Biz Arch Mastery programs are many things, but are not the following:
- Formal business architecture theory training or certification – While you will learn a tremendous amount from the available resources and group coaching through Biz Arch Mastery, they are not a substitute for formal, detailed training that teaches the BIZBOK® Guide from end-to-end. Learn more about BAA. Learn more about the Guild Certified Business Architect® certification program.
- Business Architecture Guild® membership or the business architecture body of knowledge (BIZBOK® Guide) – While our base approach and thinking are underpinned by the BIZBOK® Guide (though we focus more expansively), Biz Arch Mastery is not the Guild. Become a Guild member here.
Formal training and Guild membership are cornerstones of business architecture career development – and you should pursue each. However, Biz Arch Mastery programs are an ideal and unique complement to formal training and Guild membership that enables you to maximize your learning experience and take your business architecture career and internal business architecture practice to the next level.
